Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Zachary D. Sharp is an internationally recognized authority in the field of stable isotope geochemistry. His research interests include metamorphic petrology, volcanology, paleoclimate reconstructions, atmospheric studies of water vapor, and meteoritics. Recently, he published outstanding papers on Chlorine isotopes, namely with respect to the formation of the moon. Professor Sharp introduced a number of innovative techniques that have now become standard in many laboratories worldwide. In Germany, he will work on experiments to better understand the moon formation when a Mars-sized planet collided with the earth 4.5 billion years ago. |
